Last night I watched American Idol like I do every week. I think this year's bunch is extremely good and it's very predictable who's 'OUT' and who will be 'IN' (said in the voice Heidi Klum). I have high hopes for this year's winner. I really didn't like last season or last season's winner. Can't remember her name at the moment, but her single Tattoo is horrible. 'Just like a tattoo', I mean, c'mon. Anyways, my fav boys are David Archeluta, David Hernendez, and Michael Johns. Luke is definitely out. I'm looking forward to the girls tonight. My favs thus far are Carly and Kady (even though she's sucked in the last few episodes, I think she has potential). I hope Amanda is the next to go. I don't know what annoys me more-- her hair or her voice.

Okay, the Oscars last night disappointed me. Big time. Maybe it's the fact that I haven't seen a new movie in a LONG time and the fact that Jon Stewart's writers didn't have much time to write and perfect his commentary. I kinda felt the whole ceremony was a tad boring. I had high hopes, as I do every year, for the opening monologue. I did laugh out loud a couple times, but there were some uncomfortable unfunny moments. I was able to fast forward through the boring awards but stopped to listen to the presenters. Steve Carell was great. Owen Wilson was a suprise. Stewart didn't crack any jokes, thank god, and Wilson stuck to the lines. Glad he's showing his face again. I cheered during the montages when Larry and Hattie and Gone with the Wind and Heath were shown but poor Vivien was snubbed. Lame. Then my Tivo quit recording at 10pm so I missed the best awards.... Film of the Year and Best Actor etc. I love Daniel so I'm thrilled he won. I love listening to him talk--when he was on the Oprah show I nearly died. It's amazing how different his real voice sounds compared to the characters he plays in There Will Be Blood and Gangs of New York. I love the smoothness of it... reminds me of Last of the Mohicans. Love that film. Not sure about best dressed but best arms go to Cameron Diaz. OVERALL SCORE: C

I'm half way done watching Laurence Olivier's film Wuthering Heights. So far, I really like the way Larry plays the brooding, dark Heathcliff. I'm not impressed with the set and scenery, though. The famous moors (often considered a character in the book) look too rough and desert-like. I'll post a review when I'm finished.

we'll see what I come up with. I'm new to blogging.... I just finished watching a fabulous film on TCM, To Catch A Thief. Aww, Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. Can anything be more perfect? How about the setting.... the French Riveria. I've been there. It's stunning, surreal, heaven.
Maybe I'll think of something to write later. Anyway... no one is reading this yet anyway.
